For a greater scope of the wacky world of Hollywood’s adventures in romance, here is a list of some of the famous people who changed their status on Facebook.
Kim Kardashian’s wedding/divorce was the biggest story in America, mostly because the two came within 72 days of each other. Maligned ex-husband and NBA player Kris Humphries continues to get booed at when his team, the New Jersey Nets, plays a basketball game.
Kim K’s exploits would be the most notorious, if not for a short marriage from Sinead O’Connor in December, lasting only 16 days. The singer, most famous for her song “Nothing Compares 2 U” and for tearing a picture of the Pope on Saturday Night Live is showing the young starlets that a quickie divorce is not just for the young and naïve with her Vegas wedding and subsequent divorce less than 3 weeks later.
Other famous celebrity couples calling it quits include Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, and Ashlee Simpson and Fall Out Boy’s Peter Wentz.
But just because there were so many splits, don’t think that love was in decline. There were also plenty of good news from Hollywood!
Celebrity Engagements and Marriages
The biggest celebrity marriage in 2011 didn’t take place in Hollywood. In fact, it didn’t even take place in the United States. No, that honor belongs to the royal wedding of Prince William and Princess Kate. The Royal Wedding was one of the top-viewed events of 2011 and many congratulations go out to the budding couple!
Some celebrities even married other celebrities! Here are some of the famous people who got hitched to other famous people: Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, and Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo.
Other celebs that tied the knot (and made it through the calendar year before getting divorced) include Molly Sims, Amy Smart, Tony Roma, Sofia Coppola, Robin Williams, Tara Reid, Brooke Burke, Chris Bosh, Seth Rogen, Paul McCartney, Gene Simmons, and Marie Osmond.
Finally, here is a list of the celebrities who got engaged in 2011: Britney Spears, Matthew McConaughey, John Legend, Judy Greer, Ellie Kemper, Kristin Cavallari, Anne Hathaway, and Tiki Barber.
